Help ELAW Protect the Climate

ELAW Bulletin

The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report issued the sternest warnings yet about climate change, with the world's leading climate scientists forecasting that we only have 12 years to keep global warming in check or suffer increased risks of drought, floods, extreme heat, and poverty for hundreds of millions of people.

ELAW is teaming up with partners around the world and providing the legal and scientific tools and expertise local advocates need to challenge coal and protect the climate. This year, we helped secure lasting victories to protect the climate in India, South Africa, Poland, Peru, and more.

In the past two years, ELAW has helped partners challenge proposed coal-fired power plants that would have emitted an estimated 188 million metrics tons of CO2 every year. That's the amount of CO2 emitted by 40 million passenger vehicles in one year!

Advocates around the world are calling on ELAW to help challenge coal, and we need your support to collaborate with public interest lawyers to protect the climate.

Your generous support will make it possible for ELAW lawyers and scientists to provide the tools advocates need to defeat coal and promote sustainable energy solutions in the year ahead.

We greatly appreciate your support for ELAW and our work protecting the climate and the human right to a healthy planet.

Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and a green 2019!

Sincerely,
