Estos abogados estaban trabajando juntos en una conferencia sobre derecho de inter\u00e9s p\u00fablico en la Facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Oregon. Mientras hablaban, descubrieron que las comunidades de sus pa\u00edses enfrentaban desaf\u00edos ambientales y de derechos humanos similares. Se inspiraron en la pasi\u00f3n y el trabajo de cada uno y se dieron cuenta de que al compartir estrategias e informaci\u00f3n legal y cient\u00edfica, ser\u00edan m\u00e1s eficaces en la defensa de las comunidades y el medio ambiente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comenzaron su colaboraci\u00f3n transfronteriza en los primeros d\u00edas del correo electr\u00f3nico. El equipo de ELAW viaj\u00f3 por todo el mundo para construir relaciones y conectar a los defensores y sus organizaciones a trav\u00e9s de la red ELAW.
