This week we welcome new ELAW Fellows Juana Bilbano and Delvin Rosalio from Centro por la Justicia y Derechos Humanos de la Costa Atlántica de Nicaragua (CEJUDHCAN).
These Miskito attorneys are fleeing civil unrest on the Atlantic Coast of Nicaragua.
Juana is CEJUDHCAN's Executive Director and Delvin is head of communications. They work closely with community leaders to defend the territorial rights of indigenous peoples and peoples of African descent on the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua.
Support from Front Line Defenders has made it possible for Juana and Delvin to travel to Eugene to recharge, and work one-on-one with ELAW staff.
