Grassroots leaders from 30 countries met in Yachats, Oregon, last week for the 2015 ELAW Annual International Meeting. More than 50 ELAW partners strategized on their work to protect the climate, soil, air, and water, and drew the energy and inspiration they need to carry on challenging work.

“It can be lonely back home, working in the public interest,” says Sofiya Shutiak, Staff Attorney at Environment-People-Law in Ukraine. “We have to work hard not to lose faith because many in Ukraine are not ready for change. I re-charge myself at the ELAW Annual Meeting. I feel part of a big family. It is a breath of fresh air.”

“The key to ELAW’s success is working with these courageous, committed advocates around the world,” says Bern Johnson, ELAW Executive Director.
